I live in Zone 5.

The fairy garden is assembled indoors and attached to two plastic garage floor tiles my husband painted green. The tiles were cut to fit the shape of the outdoor space.

Southeast Michigan Spring garden blooms

More spring flowers are in bloom.

I live in zone 5 just in case you were wondering.

I have two Miss Kim Lilac bushes ( call them bushes because their height is between 4 and 5')  and they both bloomed at the same time.  The flowers are very fragrant, in fact the other night we could smell them from a 100 feet away.

This is a field poppy I tried to get rid of about 3 years ago because it had taken over.  There was no sign of them for a couple of years, and now they are back again.  I love poppies, but I am afraid they will take over again.  Have not decided what to do with them yet.

These are my peonies.  The yellow one is a peony tree with yellow flowers.  Unfortunately, the flowers have a tendency of hanging down and hiding in the tree, unlike regular peonies where the flowers are above the plan.

The Japanese Iris just opened today.  The painted daisies ( I think that is their name) and the pansies have been in bloom for a while now.

Making Slime Project without Borax

My 6 year old grandson was visiting last week and he wanted to make slime.

We used Elmer's glitter glue, both clear and colored one and a borax free recipe from Michael's store.

The recipe was simple and easy to follow.  My grandson enjoyed helping me to make his slime.

We ended up making a green, dark blue and light blue shiny slimes.

Southeast Michigan Spring garden Irises in bloom

My spring garden is looking good.  I have most of my vegetables planted or seeded.  Irises are in bloom.  Inspirations for working harder to get the garden ready for summer.

I had some yellow irises that were in bloom earlier, but they were gone before I got a chance to take their pictures.  Below are various types of purple Irises that are in bloom right now.  The first one has a wonderful smell.
